That layout is absolutely insane!
I had to google it - incredible story, well worth a read. (DAF 555 4WD for anyone interested)

Yes it is! I love the fact that they realised they could use the original CVT and just turned it 90 degrees to form a centre diff.
Sadly no 4wd 555 seems to remain, (as far as I know). Come to think of it, it would be awesome to recreate one! (Adds to the endless mental list of possible project cars)
